King Henry VIII

Early Life

Henry VIII was born in England in 1491. As a boy, he was very curious and loved learning new things. He studied languages, music, sports, and religion, and people thought he was very smart.

Henry did not expect to become king at first. His older brother, Prince Arthur, was supposed to rule, but after Arthur died, Henry became the next king of England. He became king at about 17 years old.
