Early Life
Tutankhamun was born in ancient Egypt over 3,300 years ago. He became pharaoh when he was only about eight or nine years old, which is younger than most kids reading this today. Because he was so young, grown-ups helped him rule the country.
Tutankhamun grew up in a royal family and lived in grand palaces near the Nile River. Ancient Egypt was a land of pyramids, temples, and powerful gods. Learning how to be a king was a big job for such a young boy.
Becoming Pharaoh
