Early Life

Lewis Hamilton was born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, England. As a young boy, Lewis loved anything with wheels and speed. When he was just 6 years old, his father bought him a remote-controlled car, and Lewis quickly became very good at racing it.

Soon after, Lewis started karting, which is like go-kart racing for kids. His family worked very hard to support his dream, and his father helped him practice and travel to races. Lewis showed great focus and determination, even when things were tough.

Discovering His Talent

Lewis was very talented at karting and won many races while he was still a child. When he was only 10 years old, he told the boss of the McLaren racing team that he wanted to race for them one day. Years later, that dream came true!

As a teenager, Lewis moved up to faster racing cars. He won championships in junior racing leagues, which helped him get noticed by Formula One teams.
