Eric Stonestreet was born on September 9, 1971, in Kansas City, Kansas, in the United States. He grew up in the Kansas City area and loved making people laugh from a young age. As a kid, Eric enjoyed pretending to be different characters and putting on little shows.
He went to Kansas State University, where he studied sociology. Even though his major was not acting, Eric joined theater groups and discovered that performing made him very happy. These early experiences helped him dream of becoming an actor.
